Taiyuan Museum of Art

The museum's design is a respond to modern technologies for the control of both artificial and natural light. The building's forms create ample opportunities for exploring the relationship of light and shade and the architecs employ multiple strategies to coreograph the interplay. In doing so, they generate a form that flies in the face of conventions of museum designs that promises to redefine the visitor experience.

The building's dynamic footprint creates vignettes so that a visitor in one gallery can look to another and into a exterior green space simultaneously.
