Taiyuan Museum of Art

The museum's design is a respond to modern technologies for the control of both artificial and natural light. The building's forms create ample opportunities for exploring the relationship of light and shade and the architecs employ multiple strategies to coreograph the interplay. In doing so, they generate a form that flies in the face of conventions of museum designs that promises to redefine the visitor experience.

The building's dynamic footprint creates vignettes so that a visitor in one gallery can look to another and into a exterior green space simultaneously.

Poka-Yoke

The term Poka-Yoke is a japanese term that means fail-safing or mistake-proofing.

This term is any mechanism in Lean Manifacturing process that helps an equipment operator to avoid mistakes.

This concept was formalized by Shingeo Shingo in 1960, as a part of the Toyota Production System and it was described as fool-proofing.

Later, the fool-proofing concept was changed to mistake-proofing by the complain of a worker.
An exmaple of a Poka-Yoke is the car key, which you can't remove from the switch until the transmission is on Park position.

Another example are the usb's memories, which have only one mode to connect to the computer.

Preventive announcements
In all companies we know we can see some big announcements in bright colors...well this announcements are there to order something like a way of dressing for preventing accidents.
This announcement shown here represents the need to wear a dressing-gown, glasses and rubber boots, for the protection of the workers.
I show this announcement to a friend, and what he told me was that the announcement was very clear of what is needed to wear and it is also very showy so all can notice it.

3S's

Sort, set, sweep.
My room is a complete mess, in there I keep stuff that I don't use anymore like my ex's gifts and exams from first year of highschool and so on...here are the 3 S "process" to follow for cleaning an specific area and that is used for lean manufacturing.

*Sort: I must throw away and recycle all the papers that I don't use anymore and clear the spaces that are full of them to using them in a better way.
*Set: In this step, I must find a place for each thing I wan to organize, for example a place for reusable papers and notebooks, a place for books, a place for personal stuff etc.
*Sweep: In this step all the things that I would not use anymore would have to be thrown away directly to the trash and the mess will go away.

:)
